J-Creation: A First Look Showcase
For the first time, an exclusive Japanese IP showcase event was held in Los Angeles for Hollywood’s top decision makers and power brokers across movies, TV, digital and gaming arenas. Dubbed J-CREATION: A FIRST LOOK SHOWCASE, the event took place on Thursday, March 3rd 2016 at the London Hotel in West Hollywood. Content rights holders including leading Tokyo-based publishing companies Bungeishunjū Ltd., Shogakukan Inc., Shueisha Inc., Takarajimasha Inc., all known for their leading manga (Japanese comics) as well as magazines, novels and educational books, presented properties at J-Creation: A First Look Showcase. Japanese literary management company Cork, Inc. and broadcaster Fuji Television Network Inc., presented its IPs. The diverse array of properties spanned all genres including Sci-Fi, drama, action, fantasy, mystery, thriller and horror.

“The Pinkertons” is the first TV series that Amuse Group USA is co-financing during its inaugural year in Hollywood. Based on the first American female detective in the US and actual cases from the detective agency itself, the series follows Allan Pinkerton (Angus MacFadyen), William Pinkerton (Jacob Blair) and Kate Warne (Martha MacIsaac) in their crime-solving adventures. Set in the 1860’s, they encounter many characters, two of whom are Amuse’s very own. Dean Fujioka and Seira Kagami play Kenji Hara and Miyo respectively and have recurring characters on this police procedural drama. With episodes airing in the US, Canada, Japan, and the UK, the series has received positive reviews and continues to see fan growth. Season 1 (22 episodes) have successfully wrapped and Season 2 is in development.
